Former Army defensive end Col. Tony Bianchi assumed the position of West Point’s Garrison Commander during a ceremony Friday.
Bianchi, a 1997 West Point graduate, is the 15th commander of the U.S. Army Garrison at West Point. He served as the deputy military athletic director for Army’s athletic department the past year. Bianchi replaces Evangeline Rosel, the first female West Point graduate serve in the position, that oversees logistics on post while protecting its history.
Bianchi was a defensive end on Army’s 1996 10-win Independence Bowl team and taught as an assistant professor in West Point’s system engineering department.
