Former Army defensive end Col. Tony Bianchi assumed the position of West Point’s Garrison Commander during a ceremony Friday.

Bianchi replaces Evangeline Rosel, the first female West Point graduate serve in the position, that oversees logistics on post while protecting its history.

Bianchi was a defensive end on Army’s 1996 10-win Independence Bowl team and taught as an assistant professor in West Point’s system engineering department.
