Marquel Broughton makes Wuerffel Trophy watch list

Marquel Broughton’s drive to make a difference in the community started in high school.

Broughton worked with Special Olympics while attending Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Community service remains an important part of Broughton’s life as a West Point cadet. The two-year Army football captain spoke with Army veterans at Sunrise Senior Living Center in Dix Hills, N.Y. and read to Highland Falls (NY) Middle School students.

Broughton was again acknowledged for his community efforts with a spot on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list. The award spotlights college football players that have “a positive impact on society and inspire greater service in the world.” Broughton was nominated for Allstate Good Works team last week.
