Charlotte (Fla.) defensive end Cael Newton committed to Army last week but kept his decision quiet until Wednesday.

Newton announced his commitment to the Black Knights on early national signing day, inking his certificate of commitment.

“It was nerve-wracking but I know it’s going to be great,” Newton said.
