Direct or Army Prep: 2021 class

The calendar has turned May and for some Army football 2021 commits like Katy (Texas) linebacker Shepherd Bowling the countdown is getting closer to West Point’s R-Day on June 26-28.

Bowling’s mindset is if he’s going to play at the highest level of football, he’ll train at his highest level until he leaves for West Point.

“I’m just really trying to make sure that I’m on top of the weight room especially over the summer with an emphasis on speed,” Bowling said on Black Knight Nation’s Next Up podcast. “The game gets faster and faster. I’m definitely looking forward to the challenge of coming in as a freshman and trying to have whether impact I can and what impact the coaches feel that I can give.”

Bowling is the only one of four Katy commits going directly to West Point. Offensive linemen Omarrian Aigbedion and Bill Katsigiannis and wide receiver Taylor Saulsberry will continue as teammates at Army Prep.

Linebacker Blane Cleaver (Berwick, Pa.) and LucRichard Rameau (Episcopal, Va.) are among the 2021 commits that will join Bowling at Army.

Here’s a look at where Army’s 2021 recruiting class is headed (Please DM @salinterdonato on Twitter if you are not listed under Army or Army Prep):
