Prediction time: Michigan

Army is a 22-point underdog at No. 7 Michigan.

The Black Knights have covered in its last four road games.

Army brings the nation’s second-best winning streak, 10 games, to Ann Arbor. The two storied programs are meeting for the first time since 1962. Army leads the series 5-4.

Can Army earned its first victory over a AP top-25 team since 1972 and that signature win for the program that escaped the Black Knights in a 28-21 overtime loss at Oklahoma?

There’s an assumption that Army will make this a game because of the effort it displayed at Norman a year ago. This is a different challenge than the Sooners. The environment should be more challenging at the Big House, where 108,000 fans are expected. Michigan’s defense is more stout than Oklahoma. And, the Wolverines’ offseason change to coordinator Josh Gattis makes its offense less predictable.

Sal Interdonato: Michigan 35, Army 24. Army needs to play perfect football on the offensive side and improve its blocking tenfold from its opener against Rice to make this a game. A couple game-changing plays by Cole Christiansen, Jaylon McClinton, Elijah Riley and the Black Knights’ defense would certainly help its cause.

Predictions from around the college football universe
Mike Bainbridge (Athlon Sports): Michigan 30, Army 17. Bainbridge writes: “Expect both teams to be much sharper on Saturday than they were this weekend against lower competition. Army proved last season that they can compete with the big boys of Power 5 conferences, though it’s tough to envision the Black Knights possessing the ball for three-fourths of the contest against the Wolverines defense like it did against Oklahoma last year. This will be a one-score affair in the first half before Michigan puts the clamps on the triple option and comes out with a double-digit victory.”
David Kenyon (Bleacher Report): Michigan 31, Army 14. Kenyon writes: “Last season, Army put a scare into Oklahoma before falling in overtime. Michigan is less vulnerable to such a nerve-wracking result because of a sturdier defense, but a shaky offensive showing would be crushing since Army’s methodical pace limits possessions.”
Pete Fiutak (College Football News): Michigan 38, Army 14.
Scott Wetzel (Mad Dog Radio): Michigan -22

    Army 24 Michigan 20. #ShockTheWorld

Army needs to get the fullback dive working, and keep athletic Michigan D lineman from shooting the gaps.
