Four of Army’s five starting offensive linemen played all 47 snaps in a 38-28 loss to Coastal Carolina.
Center Connor Bishop, right tackle Shayne Buckingham, left guard Jackson Filipowicz and right guard Connor Finucane didn’t come off the field for the Black Knights. Buckingham and Filipowicz made their first college starts.
Left tackle Simon Dellinger, also a first-time starter, left the game after Army’s first play of the second half and returned for the Black Knights’ final series. Boobie Law, Army’s starting left tackle last season who was recovering from a knee injury in the offseason, replaced Dellinger and played 10 snaps.
Quarterbacks Tyhier Tyler and Cade Ballard each throw a touchdown pass. Tyler started for the ninth time in his career and took the bulk of the snaps (37-of-47).
Senior Cole Caterbone got his first start at slotback. Caterbone also lined up as a wide receiver, a position he has started at nine times in his career.
Army played just three wide receivers – Isaiah Alston, Veshe Daniyan and Caterbone. Senior wide receiver Ryan Jackovic missed the game with a foot injury.
Sophomore tight end Blane Cleaver made his college debut, taking five snaps.
