Josh Lingenfelter invited to Jaguars rookie minicamp

Josh Lingenfelter is the third Army football senior to have a chance to extend his career.

Lingenfelter, a tight end, has received an invite to participate in Jacksonville Jaguars rookie minicamp. The Panama City, Fla. resident is the first Black Knights’ offensive player to be invited to an NFL rookie minicamp since fullback Connor Slomka with the Jaguars in 2020.

Statistics don’t tell the full story for Lingenfelter. Army’s offensive schemes didn’t provide Lingenfelter with ample opportunity to catch the football. He caught five passes for 157 yards in his career. Lingenfelter earned the reputation among opponents as an elite blocker and was graded among the nation’s best at his position in 2023.

Multiple NFL scouts came by West Point to see Lingenfelter during the 2023 season. Lingenfelter pumped out 30 reps of 225 pounds on Army Pro Day with a Jaguars representative on hand.
