Defense breakdown: Navy

Army’s linebacker corps of Jimmy Ciarlo, Kalib Fortner, Leo Lowin and Jackson Powell played all 64 snaps and combined for 32 tackles in the Black Knights’ 17-11 win over Navy.

Safeties Max DiDomenico and Quindrelin Hammonds also didn’t miss a play, logging all 64 snaps.

Army’s defense was on the field for 31 plays in the fourth quarter compared to 33 in the first three quarters combined.

While Army did not use a reserve linebacker, it rotated in eight different defensive linemen including six defensive ends. Senior defensive end Chris Frey started but only played the opening drive.

Army forced Navy to pass the ball 29 times, tying a season high first set against Air Force.
