Army’s fullback stable has received a boost.

Hayden Reed has returned to the team after stepping away earlier this year prior to spring football. The sophomore was added to the Black Knights’ online roster today.

Reed averaged 5.1 yards per carry as a freshman out of an under-center option, which Army returns to this season. He rushed for a career-high 107 yards, his first 100-yard game, and a touchdown in a 37-29 win at UTSA last September. Reed finished with 205 yards and two touchdowns in the Black Knights’ shotgun scheme before an injury last season.

The Tampa, Fla. talent has shown to be a tough runner, solid blocker and capable receiver. Expect Reed to be back in the fullback mix that includes freshman starter Kanye Udoh, freshman Jake Rendina and juniors Jarel Dickson and A.J. Williams.
