2024 Army Camp MVPs: Stroman Bridges earns overall honor

Stroman Bridges couldn’t have finished another West Point visit on a better note,

Bridges, a rising senior from Midland, Texas, was awarded the Class of 2025 overall MVP at Army’s prospect camp Saturday.

“The camp was great,” Bridges said. “I got to work out in front of the coaches I will be playing for eventually.”

Bridges’ athleticism makes the 6-foot, 195-pound rising senior an intriguing commit of Army’s 2025 class. Bridges worked with slotbacks, quarterback and safeties during the camp as well as coach Dane Romero (slotbacks), Aaron Smith (wide receivers), Cody Worley (quarterbacks, offensive coordinator) and Danny Verpaele (safeties).

The weekend started for Bridges with Army’s Knight on the Hudson recruiting event Friday. Bridges became a recruiter, trying to talk recruits into joining him at West Point.

“It was a great weekend,” Bridges said. “I always love being back at my future home. It was great to connect with other commits as well as try to convince some other guys to commit as well.”

Army’s camp drew 170 prospects from across the country. Harrisburg (S.D.) rising senior Sam Knuth earned the Class of 2025 quarterback MVP.

Sequatchie County (Tenn.) defensive end Harrison Smith was named underclassmen defensive MVP.

“My overall experience of the camp was awesome,” said Smith, a rising junior. “It was one of the best camps I have attended. I loved the intensity and the coaching staff was incredible. I attended this camp because I’m interested in playing football at Army and want to serve my country.”
