Recruiting: Wisconsin TE Bryce Jaworski commits to Army

Bryce Jaworski knew it from the second he walked into Army’s football facilities over the weekend.

Jaworski, a tight end from Wausau (Wisc.) West High School, started meeting the Black Knights’ staff and felt at home during his visit Friday and Saturday.

The experience and comfort level led Jaworski to his college decision Monday night. Jaworski called Army co-offensive coordinator and his recruiting coach Matt Drinkall with his commitment to the Black Knights.

“As soon as I stepped foot into the doors and was approached by all of the coaches and coach (Jeff) Monken, I said to myself, ‘This is the place for me,'” said the 6-foot-3, 248-pound Jaworski. “It’s an unbelievable experience to walk into the doors for the first time and getting to see what West Point is all about.”

Jaworski is the second commit of Army’s 2024 class following American Heritage (Fla.) tight end Ryan Vanscoy’s pledge in late March. Initial conversations with Drinkall fired Jaworski up about playing for Army and its new shotgun offense.

“I just love (the shotgun) and once Army offered (in February) and I talked to coach Drinkall it then became a real thing like, ‘Woah, that place is probably a great fit for me,'” Jaworski said. “I cannot wait to play in this new offense. I think it will fit me great.”

Jaworski was recruited and offered as a defensive end by Air Force. He also received an offer from Ohio University and visited Minnesota, Northern Illinois and Wyoming. His father, Jim, was inducted into the Wisconsin-Whitewater Hall of Fame in 2011. He helped the Division III school to the NCAA playoffs in 1988 and was a honorable-mention all-American defensive end.

247 Sports ranked the younger Jaworski as Wisconsin’s No. 17 2024 recruit and the No. 2 tight end in the state. Jaworski’s Twitter bio reads his position, 40-yard dash time (4.78), grade-point average (3.4) and four words, “I love to compete.”

There’s something else that Jaworski adores.

“I love my country,” Jaworski said.
