Jimmy Ciarlo was the first of Army eight football players to start the team’s Pro Day with the bench press.

And, Ciarlo left a tough act to follow. Ciarlo, Army’s senior linebacker/defensive back and 2023 captain, blasted out 34 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

How impressive was Ciarlo’s effort? Army football posted on its Twitter/X account that Ciarlo would have tied for the second most reps at the NFL combine last month.

Army senior tight end Josh Lingenfelter would follow with 30 reps.

Ciarlo, Lingenfelter, safety Quindrelin Hammonds, linebacker Leo Lowin, running back/receiver Ay’Jaun Marshall, cornerbacks Jabari Moore and Bo Nicolas-Paul and kicker Cole Talley participated in the Pro Day with scouts from nine NFL teams (Giants, Jets, Patriots, Jaguars, Vikings, Raiders, Eagles, Packers and Panthers) watch.
