Junior Day: Michigan DL Jaden Rogers earns Army offer

Jaden Rogers’ first impressions of his West Point visit went beyond football Saturday.

Rogers, one of the many recruits on post for Elite Junior Day, said the personal connections that he started building with defensive coordinator Nate Woody, defensive line coach Sean Cronin and special teams coach Sean Saturnio stood out.

“Some of the best people I’ve ever met,” said Rogers, a defensive lineman from Brighton (Mich.). “Everyone carries themselves here with great class and gratitude.”

Another person was Army coach Jeff Monken. Rogers met Monken in the coach’s office and was offered the opportunity to play for the Black Knights.

“(Army was) always on my mind,” said Rogers about ranking the academy among his top colleges. “Going out there today only confirmed my love for the school even more.”

Army’s facilities also impressed the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Rogers.

“My favorite part of the visit was definitely the weight room,” Rogers said.

Army’s Elite Junior Day could also be called, “Offer Day.” Many visiting Class of 2025 recruits announced their offers. Here’s a list:

Shenendehowa (N.Y.) running back Ihsaan Alozie
Xaverian Brothers (Mass.) lineman Micah Amedee
St. John’s Prep (Mass.) wide receiver Merrick Barlow
Battlefield (Va.) defensive end Cameron Binkowski
Suffield (Conn.) Academy tight end Charles Kaludis
Avon Old Farms (Conn.) linebacker Owen Moreland
Freedom (Bethlehem, Pa.) defensive end Tanner Wheeler.
