Small, Nnadozie, Walter named Army 2026 captains

Brady Small has displayed leadership skills from the moment he stepped onto West Point’s post.

Small started in Army’s 2023 season opener and has been the team’s first-team center in ever since. The junior received one of his highest honors for a West Point football player earlier week.

Small’s teammates voted him as one of three captains for the the 2026 season.

Junior safety Steve Nnadozie and junior long snapper Owen Walter join Small as captains.

Nnadozie was Army’s third safety in 2025, starting two games and playing as an extra defensive back in passing situations. He was also played a role in three of Army’s 16 takeaways with an interception, fumble recovery and forced fumble.

Walter is the first long snapper to be named Army captain since Carson Homme, who also played defensive end, in 2010. He’s entering his third season as the Black Knights’ starter. Walter is regarded as an NFL prospect.
