Army’s Short signing with Bucs, Thomas gets Ravens tryout

Noah Short’s football career is continuing in the Sunshine State.

Short, Army’s record-setting running back/receiver, is signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.

West Point’s first career 1,000-yard rusher and receiver drew interest from multiple teams. Short participated in four local NFL Pro Days including the 49ers and Patriots.

Short started his Army career as a linebacker/nickel back and standout special teams player. Short’s punt block helped Army beat Navy freshman year. Short switched to offense sophomore season and immediately became an impact player.

Army linebacker and 2025 captain Andon Thomas has been invited to Baltimore Ravens rookie minicamp. Thomas led Army in tackles the last two seasons, including 113 his senior year. He was named to the American Conference second team in 2025 and third team in 2024. Thomas’ ability to read offenses made him one of the best sideline-to-sideline linebackers in the Jeff Monken era.

Thomas was one of 16 finalist for the Campbell Trophy, the academic Heisman. He has a 3.98 GPA in chemical engineering at West Point.
