Army single-season sack leader Andre Carter has a new NFL team.

Carter was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders off the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad Wednesday.

The change in scenery may provide the 6-foot-6, 256-pound defensive end with more opportunities. All-pro Maxx Crosby recently joined a list of Raiders defensive lineman out of the season. Las Vegas is looking for pass rushing and Carter gets his chance with three games left in the season. Carter could make his 2024 debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday.

Carter was signed as undrafted free agent by the Vikings in 2023 and appeared in 12 games in his rookie season. He hasn’t been able to crack a deep defensive line for Minnesota (12-2 this season). Carter earned third-team all-American honors his junior season at Army, finished second in the FBS with 15.5 sacks.
