Army DL coach Sean Cronin, strength coach Jacob Riedel headed to Central Michigan

Army defensive line coach Sean Cronin is joining forces with Matt Drinkall as Central Michigan’s new defensive coordinator.

Drinkall, who was announced as Central Michigan’s head coach last week after six seasons as an Army assistant, is also bringing Army associate head strength and conditioning coach Jacob Riedel to be his head strength and conditioning coach.

Cronin was finished his third season under Army coach Jeff Monken after stops at Colorado State, South Florida, Marshall and Temple. One of Cronin’s recruiting areas for Army was the state of Michigan. Cronin had much success with shuffling up to seven defensive lineman a game for Army this season.

Riedel also spent the last three seasons at Army. He spent seven seasons prior to West Point on LSU’s strength and conditioning staff. Central Michigan will be Riedel’s first lead S&C position.
