Signing Day: Tennessee lineman Judd Taylor made ‘right choice’ with Army

Carter (Tenn.) offensive line Judd Taylor committed to Army back in June.

Watching Army’s 10-1 season and berth in the American Athletic Conference championship unfold has made Taylor’s choice that much more reaffirming.

“I love the program and what they are doing and can’t wait to be a part of it,” said Taylor, who signed his certificate of commitment during Wednesday’s early Signing Day. “I definitely made the right decision and I can’t wait to see how West Point helps me grow not only as an athlete but a human as well.”

Taylor visited West Point last week for the Black Knights’ win over UTSA and there was a buzz over Army’s season and the AAC championship.

“I talked about it with some of the recruits and coach (Matt) Drinkall (Army’s offensive line coach),” Taylor said. “I can’t wait for that (game). I think it’s going to be a great game.”

Chatfield (Colo.) kicker Andrew Astone, who recently committed to Army, signed with the Black Knights Wednesday.

“I love how West Point sets you up for life,” Astone said. “You graduate with a job and are immediately building a resume on top of a very prestigious degree all while getting to play the sport I love.”
