Broxton Robinson kept telling his parents that Army “is the place for me” during his Knight on the Hudson recruiting visit Sunday.
Witnessing West Point’s campus for the first time and its football facilities was nothing like Robinson had ever experienced.
”The place is beautiful and I really just fell in love with it,” Robinson said.
Before Robinson left, the Panhandle (Texas) rising senior joined list of recruits that made Army their next home Sunday night, committing to the Black Knights.
”The coaching staff is a big reason I decided to commit,” Robinson said. “Coach (Mike) Viti is the one who first reached out to me and I feel really close with him already.”
Robinson, who is entering his third season as Panhandle’s starting quarterback, tries to watch every Army football game he can. His father tells him that he plays like Black Knights quarterback Bryson Daily.
Robinson’s physical running style reminds his father of Daily, who set the FBS quarterback record with 32 rushing TDs in 2024 and started at Abernathy High School about an hour from Panhandle.
“That’s what the coaches at Army have been telling me also,” Robinson said about the comparisons to Daily. “I’ve kind of known about him sense he committed to Army. I’d say that I’m a physical runner.”
Army is recruiting the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Robinson as a running back. Robinson has operated an offensive similar to Army’s mostly under-center scheme from a shotgun at Panhandle.
“A lot of triple option,” Robinson said. “We get in the spread a little bit.”
