Recruiting: Lexington Catholic (Ky.) WR Jackson Kreutzer picks Army

Army immediately jumped to the top of Jackson Kreutzer’s college football choice when he received an offer from the Black Knights over the summer.

Kreutzer’s visit for East Carolina game cemented Army’s standings about a month ago.

“I loved everything about it,” Kreutzer said. “What impressed me the most was the atmosphere of the game ad how close the players were to each other.”

After talking it through with family, Kreutzer, a senior wide receiver at Lexington (Ky.) Catholic High School, contacted Army fullbacks coach Blake Powers with his commitment last Saturday.

Kruetzer, who was also recruited by Dayton, has 68 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.

“What drew me to the program was the coaching staff, the level of football, the brotherhood, what the future holds with the direction of the football program and  the great opportunity of academics,” Kreutzer said.

Kreutzer is already bought into Army football’s team culture before he steps on post.

When asked about his thoughts of playing receiver in Army’s run-heavy offense, Kreutzer said, “(I’ll) do whatever they need me to do to make the team successful.”
