Bryson Daily semifinalist for Maxwell, Davey O’Brien awards

Bryson Daily’s play has reached an elite level as one of college football’s top quarterbacks.

Daily was recognized for his record-breaking season by two major postseason awards Tuesday.

The Army senior quarterback was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell (best player) and Davey O’Brien (top quarterback) awards.

Daily recorded his seventh straight 100-yard rushing game and became the sixth Army quarterback to crack 1,000 rushing yards in a season in the Black Knights’ 14-3 win over North Texas Saturday.

Daily’s 1062 rushing yards leads all FBS quarterbacks and ranks ninth overall. Daily’s 21 rushing touchdowns in eight games is second in the country behind Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty’s 22.
