Army’s Josh Scovens transferring to Davidson

Josh Scovens, Army basketball’s top returning scorer, has committed to Davidson.

Scovens, who averaged 15.2 points in his sophomore season at West Point, announced his decision Saturday on social media. He posted a commitment post included with a cutout of Davidson alum and NBA great Stephen Curry. The 6-foot-6 forward was the 2024 Patriot League rookie of the year.

Scovens, a second-team Patriot pick in 2025, missed the last three regular-season games due to injury and Army went 0-3 in those games to close its Patriot League schedule.

Davidson finished 12th out of 15 teams in the Atlantic 10 this past season with 17-16 overall record and 6-12 in conference.

Scovens is returning to his home state to continue his college career. Davidson is about an 1 hour and 20 minutes from Scovens’ hometown of Greensboro, N.C.
