Army football’s first opponent in the newly-renovated Michie Stadium next fall will be – the Bryant Bulldogs.

West Point announced that the Black Knights will face Bryant for the first time on Saturday Sept. 5, at a still to be determined time, to start the 2026 season and celebrate the opening of the rebuilt $180 million East-stands project.

With the news of Bryant, a FCS-level team from the Coastal Athletic Conference, and a recently-announced game at Louisiana Tech on Oct. 3, Army has completed its 12-game schedule for 2025. The Black Knights will host arch-rival Air Force on Nov. 7 and play the Army-Navy game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Dec. 12.

The Black Knights will host American Conference foes East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Tulane, while travelling to Memphis, Rice, Temple and Tulsa next season. The dates of those games will be announced in February.

On paper, Bryant is a far cry from Army’s one FCS opponent this season. The Black Knights faced off against Tarleton State in late August and were stunned by the Texans, 30-27, in overtime. Tarleton State were rated as high as No. 3 in the national FCS poll before losing to Villanova in the quarterfinals of the FCS national football tournament and finishing with a 12-2 record.

In its second season in the CAA this year, Bryant finished with a 3-9 overall record and were 1-7 in its conference. Bryant defeated UMass, Bentley and Albany during the campaign. In 2024, Bryant finished 2-10 overall and went 0-8 in league play. The Bulldogs were 6-5 and 4-2 when they competed in the Big South/Ohio Valley Conference in 2023.
