Mark Andrzejewski’s Army football recruiting moved quickly.
Andrzejewski received his first FBS offer from Army last Monday (Nov. 24). The St. John Paul II (Ala.) wide receiver committed to the Black Knights a few days later.
Assisting in the process was the guidance of his father, Paul, a former Army wide receiver and 1994 West Point graduate.
Andrzejewski signed his certificate of commitment on early Signing Day Wednesday with his father and mother by his side.
”After a few days of thought, it was an easy decision,” Andrzejewski said. “My dad definitely helped in making the decision.
”It’s always been my dream to play at the next level and it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up to go play for a great program like Army.”
Andrzejewski, who had more than 1,000 receiving yards and 16 TDs as a senior, is looking forward to playing wide receiver in Army’s run-heavy offense. He believes the position is “undervalued by the average viewer.”
”Every play is of equal importance whether you are blocking or catching a TD,” Andrzejewski said.
Andrzejewski’s commitment and signing continues his family’s West Point path. His father caught 47 passes for 610 yards and a touchdown in the 1992-93 seasons. His brother, Paul, is a junior infielder for Army’s baseball team.
Though everything happened quickly during his recruiting, Andrzejewski appreciated his Signing Day moment.
”It means a lot,” Andrzejewski said. “It was a feeling that you can’t recreate.”
