Pregame (UTSA): Braden Bartosh to make second start

Senior offensive lineman Braden Bartosh received positive reviews for his first start last week from Army coach Jeff Monken and offensive coordinator Cody Worley.

Bartosh will make his second straight start at right guard against UTSA today as junior Paolo Gennarelli will miss his second consecutive game due to injury.

“I thought Bradon pretty really well,” Worley said. “When you don’t notice that position, it’s a good thing.

“He’s obviously not PG but he didn’t cost us. I thought he performed for his first start and played well for the most part. I was really pleased with how he responded given the circumstance. Looking forward to getting PG back and Bradon is doing a good job in his absence right now.”

Sophomore running back Briggs Bartosh, Brandon’s brother, is out for the third straight game with an injury. Army has missed Bartosh’s big-play running ability from the B-back position.

Army’s defensive line depth is taking a hit today with senior defensive end Deshontez Gray and junior defensive end Dillon Stowers out. That likely means additional snaps for sophomores Javon Smith, Sean Donovan and Nick Buchys along the Black Knights’ defensive front.
