Army first-year staring offensive lineman Paolo Gennarelli’s play has earned another postseason honor and landed him in elite academy history.
Gennarelli was selected to the Associated Press all-American third team as a guard Monday shortly after Army won the Joe Moore Award as the nation’s best offensive line Friday.
The Campton Hills, Ill. native is the first Army sophomore to receive AP postseason all-American honors since running back Bob Anderson in 1957.
Gennarelli has started all 13 games for the Black Knights this season. He’s been ranked among the highest-graded guards in the country by Pro Football Focus College. Gennarelli has been named to PFF College team of the week once and the Group of Five team of the week twice.
