Army Football Banquet: Bryson Daily earns MVP, prestigious award

Bryson Daily’s record-breaking 2024 season was more than just statistics.

Daily’s leadership and toughness set the example for Army’s 12-2 American Athletic Confernce championship campaign.

Army celebrated its 2024 season at a team banquet Friday night. And, Daily earned two of the top awards.

Daily received the Thruston Hughes Memorial Award, given to the team MVP, and the prestigious Black Lion Award, presented to the player who displayed leadership, courage, devotion and selfless service. Daily set a FBS record with 32 rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.

Army’s four 2024 team captains – Daily, Max DiDomenico, Kyle Lewis and Cody Winokur highlighted the banquet.

DiDomenico, a three-year starting safety, received the James B. Gillespie Memorial Award as player that displayed outstanding dedication and leadership and unfailing performance.

Kyle Lewis, a defensive end, was selected as the Anthony Miller Coaching Staff Award winner as the team’s most inspirational player.

Winokur received the Chase Prasnicki Memorial Award from offensive line coach and former Black Knights captain Mike Viti, Prasnicki’s teammate.

The award is given to the Army senior that best exemplifies the qualities of former Army player Chase Prasnicki, who was killed in action in 2012.

Bill Katsigiannis, a guard on Army’s Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line, received the William C. Whitehead Jr. Award for the senior having the highest class standing and the Lifter of The Year award.

Kicker Trey Gronotte earned the Garrison Davidson award as the senior with the highest military grade.

Lucas Scott was named the offensive lineman of the year.

Wide receiver Brady Anderson and defensive lineman Sean Donovan were named scout team player of the year.
