Coaching update: Prince, Holt added to Army staff

Energy was one of the top qualities that new Army defensive coordinator Daryl Dixon was looking for in his first assistant hire.

Dixon and Army has found that in Eastern Michigan cornerbacks coach Munir Prince.

Prince, who spent the last four seasons at the Mid-American Conference school, was announced by Army in the same capacity last late week.

Army also added Southeast Missouri offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach John Holt as its tight ends coach to complete its coaching staff.

Prince played in the secondary during his college career. He was a defensive back on Missouri’s 2006 and 2007 bowl teams. Prior to Missouri, Prince was a running back at Notre Dame. Prince coached for five seasons (2015-19) at Missouri State, starting with running backs and finished with cornerbacks.

Holt’s prior FBS coaching experience was as Georgia State’s offensive line coach during the 2022 and 2023. He’s also made coaching stops at Appalachian State (tight ends, special teams coordinator, 2008-11), Western Carolina (offensive line coach/offensive coordinator, 2012-2020), Dodge City Community College (2021) and Lakewood (N.C.) HS (2024). He played for three FCS national champion App State teams from 2005-2007.
