Bob Novogratz bound for College Hall of Fame

One of the elite players on Army’s last undefeated football team is receiving one of college football’s highest honors.

Bob Novogratz, an all-American offensive guard on Army’s 1958 team, has earned induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Novogratz will be the 24th Army football player to be enshrined on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.

The 1959 West Point graduate was named the country’s best lineman in 1958, blocking for Heisman Trophy winner Pete Dawkins and Hall of Fame running back Bob Anderson on Army’s 8-0-1 team that finished No. 3 in the nation. Novogratz was also a standout linebacker.

A two-sport athlete at West Point, Novogratz finished third at heavyweight at the Easten Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championships as a senior.
