Army to host South Florida in American opener

Army football will play South Florida in its first American Conference game in the new-look Michie Stadium.

The Black Knights will host the Bulls and first-year coach Brian Hartline on Sept. 12 in the American 2026 schedules released Thursday.  The game will mark the return of Danny Verpaele, former Army safeties coach and current South Florida assistant.

Army will play three of its four American home games by mid-October with Tulane (Oct. 10) and Florida Atlantic (Oct. 17) visiting West Point. East Carolina fills up Army’s home schedule (Nov. 21).

The Black Knights’ only non-Saturday conference game will be at Tulsa on Friday October 23. Army will also at play at Temple (Sept. 26), Memphis on Halloween and Rice (Nov. 28).
