Army sophomore quarterback Ethan Washington will miss the 2025 season with a knee injury.

Washington’s injury happened during a non-contact run in the team’s first preseason scrimmage on August 9.

Locked in a battle for Army’s starting quarterback early in the preseason, Washington and senior Dewayne Coleman were running “1a and 1b”, coach Jeff Monken said before the injury.

Army’s coaching staff is very high on the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Washington’s dual-threat ability and athleticism. With the graduation of Bryson Daily, the FBS single-season leader for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, Washington worked into a position of competing for the starting job during the offseason, spring, summer and preseason.
