It may only be on paper, but it seems that the schedule makers in the American Athletic Conference are all set to give Army a relatively easy one next season, after giving the Black Knights a perceived soft schedule in their inaugural campaign in the league this year.
The 2025 AAC schedule, released on Thursday, has Army playing home games against Charlotte, North Texas, Tulsa and Temple and visiting UAB, East Carolina, UTSA and Tulane. Of course, the Black Knights will face off against archrival Navy, also in the AAC, in a non-conference game as usual in December 2025.
Nowhere on the 2025 schedule are AAC traditional powerhouse Memphis as well as an improving Rice program.
Army does not face Memphis, South Florida and Tulane, three of the four teams predicted to finish above the Black Knights in the league’s preseason media poll this season. Army hosts UTSA, the fourth team predicted to finish ahead of them, on Nov. 30 at Michie Stadium. Army does play Temple, East Carolina, Tulsa, UAB, Navy and North Texas, six of the seven programs at the bottom of the poll in the 14-team conference.
To round out the non-league schedule this year, in addition to Navy, Army will host Lehigh, on Friday, Aug. 30, and Air Force, on Nov. 2, at Michie Stadium and be the visiting team when the Black Knights face off with Notre Dame on Nov. 23 at Yankee Stadium.
The league also stated that, starting next season, each team will play at least one road game in both the Eastern and Central time zones and each team will make at least one visit every two years to Texas to play one of the three Texas schools (UTSA, Rice and North Texas).
