Monken teeing it up again at Peach Bowl Challenge

Jeff Monken is returning to play with his coaching peers in the Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf event.

This time, Monken is playing for a charity with close ties to Army’s football program. Legacies Alive was originally founded by Army offensive line coach and former fullback Mike Viti and former teammate Mark Faldowski.

Viti is a board member of the organization, which provides support to Gold Star families of fallen heroes and brings awareness to all military members who have passed away while serving.

Joining Monken in the field on April 30-May 2 at Reynolds Lake Oconee outside of Atlanta are Paul Johnson, Monken’s mentor and former Navy, Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern coach, Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Florida State’s Mike Norvell, South Carolina’s Shane Beamer, Pittsburgh’s Pat Narduzzi, Syracuse’s Dino Babers, Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz and Georgia Tech’s Brent Key.

Former coaches Steve Spurrier, Urban Meyer, Dan Mullen, Rick Neuheisel, Randy Edsall and Chan Gailey are also expected in the field of 20. Coaches will be paired in teams to compare for a purse of $300,000 in charity.
