Max DiDomenico and Brady Small have received the Army’s highest individual preseason recognition as a first-year member of the American Athletic Conference.

And, there’s a consensus among two respected college football previews.

DiDomenico, a senior safety and captain, and Small, a sophomore center, were named to the Phil Steele and Athlon preseason AAC second teams. The AAC does not select its own preseason teams.

DiDomenico, who enters his second season as a full-time starter, is eight tackles shy of 100 for his career. He has two interceptions and two forced fumbles in his first three seasons at West Point and more bigger plays are expected as Army’s secondary leader.

Small started all 12 games in his rookie season and was the Black Knights’ most consistent lineman as a freshman.

Sophomore running back Kanye Udoh earned preseason third-team honors from Athlon and fourth from Phil Steele.

Junior linebacker Kalib Fortner was Phil Steele and Athlon third-team selection. Senior guard Lucas Scott made the Phil Steele third team and Athlon fourth team.

Athlon also honored senior running back Tyrell Robinson (third team) and senior nose tackle Kyle Lewis (fourth team).
