Army adds 1914, 1916 to Michie Stadium ‘ring of honor’ national champions

Army’s 1914 football is one of the most iconic and historically in the program’s storied history.

The academy’s first undefeated team (9-0), the 1914 squad featured six all-Americans, four whom were elected to College Football Hall of Fame including lineman and Tennessee coach Robert Neyland, and many accomplished military leaders.

On its 110th anniversary, the legendary team has earned its rightful place in the ring of honor at Army’s Michie Stadium.

Both, the 1914 and undefeated 1916 team were included with Army’s 1944, 1945, 1946 squads under national champions high above the stadium’s south end zone.

Forty players on the 1914 team earned the rank of brigadier general or higher including Omar Bradley, commanding officer in World War II and a former Chief of Staff of the Army and Chairman to the Joint Chief of Staff.
